Pascale Grumet: keeping an ancestral know-how alive

Passionate about crafts and antiques, Pascale Grumet set herself the goal of combining working with materials and antique furniture in her new business. At the age of 45, she decided to return to school to learn the craft of chair caning and re-caning at the René Pellet School in Villeurbanne. She earned her vocational certificate (CAP) there in 2009. In October 2010, she established her workshop. Two years later, in 2012, she discovered straw marquetry, another way of working with rye straw. Gradually, she developed her business and, since April 2013, has been recognized as a Master Craftswoman.
