Rilsan®, also known as polyamide 11, is an innovative plant-based material derived from castor oil. It offers a modern and sustainable alternative to the natural rattan splints traditionally used in caning and weaving. Particularly well-suited for outdoor use, it combines authenticity with technical performance.

Its exceptional flexibility ensures lasting comfort: even after many years of intensive use, Rilsan® retains its elasticity without deforming. It is also distinguished by its remarkable resistance to outdoor conditions. Impervious to UV rays, it does not overheat in the sun and maintains its vibrant colors throughout the seasons.

Designed for durability, this material is highly resistant to insects, termites, fungi, and mold. It retains all its mechanical properties in extreme weather conditions, withstanding temperatures ranging from -50°C to +70°C.

Another major advantage is its ease of maintenance. Rilsan® requires no special treatment, making it an ideal choice for everyday, hassle-free use.

Made in France, Rilsan® is available in a palette of around thirty colors, offering numerous customization options to suit all furniture styles.

Cane weaving with Rilsan® fibers is rooted in the artisanal tradition of braiding, similar to basketry. This expertise demands precision and meticulous attention to detail to create seats, backrests, armrests, and decorative elements that are both sturdy, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. This material is thus used to make chairs, armchairs, stools, benches, planters, and even headboards.
